LAHP Isle Playground Replacement 2024

The Isle Playground was identified in the 2018 Lifecycle Assessment to be reaching the end of its capital lifespan.  It is currently unappealing and an underutilized asset.

Over the last three years, a committee of concerned residents and the board of directors have been focused on turning it into an asset the community can be proud of and that will encourage development of our young people.

The new playground design is modern, is consistent with the latest best practices, and is designed with safety as a key feature.

Through the direction of a comprehensive survey, circulated through the community in 2021, the playground committee and board narrowed down the chosen design by working through ten different designs submitted by five different vendors.

Funding for the playground, which is valued at $360,000, will be through the Province of Alberta’s Community Facility Enhance Program ($125,000), the Foothills County Dunbow Recreation Board ($25,000) and the balance through the LAHP’s reserve fund.

The plan is to have the playground installed and in use by the end of August 2024.
